How You Fight the Nastiest Weed in North Texas

Today I want to show you a weed we see a lot in the summer here in Dallas. The weed is called Dallisgrass. This nasty weed is perennial, which means it comes from a root and cannot be controlled by a pre-emergent. Your best option for a large patch of Dallisgrass is to apply Roundup and then re-sod the area.

If you find a small patch of Dallisgrass in your lawn, your best course of action is to dig it up because Dallisgrass is a spreader. If left unattended, it will spread and eventually choke out your Bermuda and St. Augustine.
