As we enter our 45th spring serving North Texas, we wanted to share some important lawn care insights from Village Green. In our recent video update, Ken Hyatt, our founder and president, walks you through what we’re seeing in our service areas this season.
Round 2 Lawn Care Visits: We’re currently completing our second round of lawn treatments. For our long-time customers, you’ll notice your lawn looking clean and well-maintained. During these visits, we’re focusing on:
• Applying pre-emergent treatments to prevent spring and summer weeds like crabgrass
• Spot-treating existing weeds
• Applying early spring fertilizer to give your lawn a nutritional boost as temperatures rise
If you’re new to our services and seeing more weeds than you’d like, don’t worry. We’re committed to getting your lawn in top shape and will work diligently to control those unwanted plants.
Insect and Disease Management: While it’s still early in the season, we’re staying vigilant:
• For our Signature Plus Insect plan customers, we’re treating for fire ants to prevent infestations
• We’re monitoring for potential diseases like brown or large patch in St. Augustine lawns, which typically appear in mid to late April
A Quick Lawn Care Tip: Don’t be jealous of those seemingly lush, bright green lawns in your neighborhood! More than likely, what you’re seeing is either winter rye grass or invasive weeds. Your lawn is just beginning to come out of dormancy, which is completely normal for this time of year. Patience and proper care will bring your lawn back to its full, healthy green soon.
We’re getting ahead of mosquito season with our comprehensive mosquito control service. If you’re interested call or text us for more information or to get started with treatments and keep those pesky mosquitoes away this season.
