Do This If You Want To Prevent Winter and Spring Weeds in your Lawn.

Assuming you are on a good fertilization and weed control plan, you will apply pre-emergent during the winter months in North Texas. For this preventative to work, it is vital that you properly water your lawn within two weeks of the application. At Village Green, we typically spray a liquid pre-emergent, which comes out in big droplets. When you water within two weeks of our application, it will spread the pre-emergent out and down into your soil, which creates that barrier we are looking for to prevent those weeds. Winter and spring weeds are hard to control once they have come up, so the pre-emergent must be appropriately applied, including this vital watering within two weeks.
