Like many of our customers, Brandon and Lindsay discovered Village Green via a Google search. They, like so many in North Texas, had suffered some freeze damage in February 2021. As has been the case for many, the freeze allowed them to rethink their landscape design and update things that have bugged them for years.
Brandon and Lindsay had clear goals, and they wanted to re-do their front landscape and make it as maintenance-free as possible. They also wanted to replace their old border with a masoned, stone border (they even had sample photos to share with me to illustrate what they wanted.) Then another important but less sexy ask was to fix some issues with their downspouts which were causing problems being so close to their foundation.
As you can see in the video, we removed their dead plants and the large, overcrowded hollies and replaced them with plants requiring no trimming. It doesn’t get more maintenance-free than that! We added kaleidoscope abelias for medium-sized, evergreen colors and used obsession nandina to frame the entry with a dash of a reddish color. To give some color and layering, we used giant liriope, perennial dianthus, and purple heuchera.
Brandon and Lindsay were delighted with our stonemason, Andres, and his work with the stone border. They also loved working with Hannah and her landscape team and have been even more impressed with our overall post-project follow-up. It is one of the things that sets us apart. When we install a landscape, we stop by and check in a few weeks later to make sure everything is going well. Our goal is to let our customers enjoy their landscape worry-free and not have to worry about it (that’s our job!)
I want to thank Brandon and Lindsay for trusting us with their landscape and for taking the time to leave their nice review on Google, where they first found Village Green!
Brandon & Lindsay’s Review
“Village green was excellent to work with. During the freeze, we lost a decent amount of bushes in our front landscaping. Ken came out, had specific plants in mind to put back, and wrote up a proposal with pictures of the plants. They also built a border wall the entire length of the landscaped area. Andres and his team, which Village Green subcontracted to do the wall, did an excellent job and made it look exactly as we expected. Their work was efficient and seems to be of very high quality. Then, Hannah with Village Green exceeded our expectations by fully listening to us on what we wanted, moved plants and borders around as desired, and efficiently managed everyone to get the job done. The whole crew went above and beyond. Throughout the entire process, the whole team was very easy to talk to, and we were easily able to communicate our exact vision. They executed it perfectly. My only complaint was they couldn’t start earlier! Understandable, though, as everyone in the metroplex was trying to landscape at the same time. Ultimately, great work, and I was very pleased with the outcome.”
