Early Summer Lawn Update for North Texas

The recipe for a healthy lawn is pretty basic. The ingredients are sun, water, and food (fertilizer.) Where things get tricky is with our weather in North Texas. Founded in 1980, Village Green has been through many summer seasons in North Texas. And what we’ve learned over the years is it is imperative to make sure your sprinkler system is ready and in peak performance for our hot and dry summer months.

If it is not, your lawn will become stressed when our temperatures start hitting the nineties and our conditions become drier. If you want to do it yourself, check out our tips for checking your sprinkler system below. Or better yet, give us a call at 972-495-6990 and let one of our certified sprinkler technicians come out for a system check and help you program your controller for proper summer watering.

We’re also focused on spot treating for summer weeds like crabgrass and nutsedge and treatments for chinch bugs, grubs, and fire ants. We typically don’t see any grub or chinch bug issues in late spring, but now is the time to do preventative measures for both (especially chinch bugs which thrive in our hot, dry months.)

If you aren’t currently using Village Green for your lawn’s health, we would love to earn you business. Founded in 1980, we are a family-owned and operated lawn and landscape company–Call 972-495-6990 or email [email protected] for more information.
